Freelancing cannot make you wealthy
There are 3 kinds of leverage — Labour, Capital and Code&Media.
“Freelancing” is a glorified term for self-employment, emphasis on employment.
At this stage, people are still trading time for money, but on their own terms (which is kinda better). But it would be delusional to think that it’ll make them wealthy — in the true sense of the word.
Since most freelancer are solo-operators, they’re unable to fully-automate the assembly line. Hence, limiting their capacity to earn.
But when freelancing is combined with “labour” leverage, sprinkled with little capital — when you hire people and train them, make SOPs and systems, and establish a management structure, until you detach yourself from it — you create a money-making machine, a real asset.
And in other words, a company. A transition required to create wealth.
