Why Brainies are less socialized?
Evolutionary psychology —
At the dawn of human civilisation, socialization was crucial for our survival. To incentivise this behaviour, our brain rewarded us with happy hormones whenever we formed relationships. This hardwired our brain to crave social-acceptance and social-validation, resulting in the formation for societies and communities.
Things that makes us inherently happy are true as they were back then.
Now that survival threat is out of equation, smarter people better adapted to challenges of the modern environment, and became more willing to leave the “group” to achieve a more fulfilling and satisfying life.
According to a study, more intelligent individuals were actually less satisfied with the life if they socialized with their friends more frequently.
They don’t want that feeling of tribal belonging to find meaning in their lives.
They forge their own path and thrive in a few, close, genuine relationships.
